1. Who we are

Manzil ("Manzil", "we", "us") is a marriage-minded dating application designed for Indians. Manzil and Flingo are two dating apps operated by the same legal entity, running on a single shared backend. Both apps are the same controller of your personal data, and deleting your account from one app deletes it from both (see Section 4 below). This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Manzil mobile application (the "App") and this website (the "Site"). By using Manzil you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

Account details — phone number or email, name, date of birth, gender, photographs, and profile details (profession, education, community, intent, height, location, etc.)
Verification — photo or ID submitted during profile verification
Communications — messages exchanged with other users (encrypted at rest)
Payment metadata — Google Play and Apple App Store process all payments. We never see your card details.

Information collected automatically

Device information — model, operating system version, device identifiers
Approximate location — city-level, derived from IP or device location (with your permission)
Usage data — screens viewed, taps, in-app actions, crash reports
Cookies and similar technologies on the Site for analytics and remembering your preferences

3. How we use your information

To create your profile and match you with potential partners
To verify profiles and prevent fraud, fakes, and underage usage
To enable chat, video and audio calls between mutual matches
To provide premium features after a successful purchase
To improve the App and Site, fix bugs, and prevent abuse
To comply with legal obligations, including child-safety reporting under applicable law

4. Manzil and Flingo share a single account and all data

Important disclosure — please read before creating a profile. Manzil and Flingo are two dating apps operated by the same legal entity that run on a single shared backend. You should think of Manzil and Flingo as two different interfaces to the same account — not as two separate services. Anything you do in one app — including deleting your account — applies to both apps.

What this means in practice:

One account, two apps. When you sign up on Manzil with a phone number or email, the same account is created on Flingo. Signing into Flingo with the same credentials opens the same profile, the same matches, the same conversations and the same settings.
Your profile is discoverable in both apps. Your visible profile — display name, photographs, age, city, profession, education, community, bio and intent — appears to users browsing either Manzil or Flingo, subject to their filters and preferences. Your phone number, email, government ID and exact location are never visible to other users in either app.
Matches, likes and super-likes are shared. Anyone you match with on Manzil also appears in your matches on Flingo. Likes you send or receive show up identically in both apps.
Chats and call history are shared. Messages, audio calls and video calls live on the same backend and appear in whichever app you open. A conversation started on Manzil can be continued on Flingo, and vice-versa.
Premium subscriptions apply across both apps. A Premium plan purchased on either Manzil or Flingo entitles the same account to premium features inside both apps. Billing for the subscription is still handled by the store (Google Play or App Store) where the purchase was made.
Account-level actions are unified. Verification, profile edits, pausing your account, deleting your account, blocks, safety reports and bans all take effect across both Manzil and Flingo simultaneously, because the underlying account is the same.
Settings and preferences are shared. Your filters, notification preferences (where applicable), blocked users and privacy settings are stored once and apply in both apps.

How to control your visibility:

Hide or pause your profile. Pausing or hiding your profile from inside either app removes you from discovery in both apps until you reactivate.
Delete your account from either app. Because there is only one shared account behind both apps, tapping "Delete account" inside Manzil or Flingo permanently deletes the same single account. Your profile, matches, chats, photos, settings and all associated data are removed from both apps within 30 days, subject to the legal retention exceptions in Section 7. You do not need to delete the account separately in each app, and you cannot delete in one app while keeping it in the other.
Email us. For any data-access, correction or deletion request that you cannot complete from inside the app, email info.flingo@gmail.com. We will action your request within 7 working days.

If you do not want your profile to appear in both Manzil and Flingo, please do not create an account. Because the apps share a single backend, there is no way to make a profile visible in one app and not the other.

5. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data to advertisers. We share data only with:

Other Manzil and Flingo users — your visible profile (name, photos, bio, age, city) is visible to other users of both Manzil and Flingo, as described in Section 4 above.
Service providers — Google Firebase (auth, database, storage, crashlytics, remote config, app check, AI), Google Play Billing, Google Sign-In, and approved analytics providers.
Law enforcement — when required by court order, subpoena, emergency disclosure, or applicable Indian / Google Play / international child-safety reporting obligations.

6. Children's privacy

Manzil is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will terminate their account and delete their data promptly — across both Manzil and Flingo. 7. Data retention

We retain your account data while your account is active. When you delete your account from either Manzil or Flingo, we permanently delete your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. fraud prevention, regulatory or legal obligations). Because Manzil and Flingo share a user database, a deletion request actioned from one app is honoured for both.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law — including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 — you have the right to: access your data, correct your data, delete your account, withdraw consent, restrict cross-app discoverability (as set out in Section 4), and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. 9. Security

We protect your data with industry-standard measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, Firebase App Check (Play Integrity / App Attest) to prevent fraudulent requests, and reviewed access controls for our staff.

10. International transfers

Manzil and Flingo's primary servers are located in India and the United States via Google Firebase. By using either app you consent to your data being transferred to these locations.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will reflect material changes in the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and, where required, notify you in-app or by email. The shared-backend disclosure in Section 4 was added on May 16, 2026; existing users who created a Manzil profile before this date are covered by the same terms going forward and may delete their account at any time from inside either app.
